Threads of more than two are welcome and encouraged.

1.  Boarded:  Your ship has been boarded, and as captain you've been captured!  Better hope the other captain gives quarter.  Alternatively, it's a nice warm day for a swim.  That plank was made for walking.

2.  Victory:  You've captured another ship!  You knew those extra cannons would come in handy.  And let's hope they've got lots of swag!  Where's the captain? Are you the decent sort, or are you going to rub their face in it for a bit?

3.  Swab the decks:  You're a cabin boy!  It's a good thing you don't mind doing all the dirty work, right?  Anyway, the captain's calling; better see what they want.

4.  Marooned:  For a bit there you'd thought you were in Davy's Jones' grip, but somehow you've washed ashore with the driftwood.  As you stare dazedly up from the surf, you have questions.  Where are you?  And who's that already on the shore?

5.  Buried Treasure:  Sink me! You've really found the mother lode. . . but you're not the only one.  Who gets to take the treasure back to their ship?  Better make sure it's you.

6.  Rum:  Rum, everywhere.

7.  Swordfight:  It's that person you can't stand!  And they've taken your most valuable possession, that one of a kind thing you just can't live without!  Better get that trinket back before it and your nemesis are gone over the side forever.  Let's hear some swashes buckling.

8.  Mutiny:  The tack is full of maggots and this drinking water may as well have come from the gutter.  There's one person to blame for this, and you're here to make especially sure that they pay for it.  The captain does always seem to take the best treasure before everybody else.

9.  Kidnapping:  Don't they look rather peaceful, innocent even, sleeping so soundly there with their fancy nightclothes and pillows.  Brings a tear to your eye, it does.  Better take them aboard and send for a ransom.

10.  Take a Gamble:  Gotta spend your loot somehow, but it must have been the rum that had you bettin' everything at once!  You've lost to your hornswagglin' shipmate; what did you lose, and what will they make you do now?

11. Under the Sea:  You are now a Mermaid/Merman!  That sailor over there sure looks appealing; let's see if you can lure them in with your charms.  Don't forget that they can't breathe under water!  You do seem to always forget, don't you. . .

12.  The Doldrums:  Can you say cabin fever?  The sails haven't moved in weeks.  You're about seeing if your mates can relieve this awful boredom.

[The sound of someone coming across the room stirs him out of his sleep a little. No one should be in his quarters unless something had happened on deck. But for an emergency, whoever it is certainly is taking their sweet time.]

[The voice, though, finally raises his veil of sleep--because that is not the sort of thing a crewmember says to their first officer. Artemis' eyes snap open... and there is a filthy pirate sitting on his bed.]

[Artemis rolls over and reaches under his bed, where he keeps his weapons during the night.]

[ Wow really? He bathes regularly thanks. And while his clothing is a little beat up, it's fairly clean and well taken care of.

The kid's got good instincts, Yuri'll give him that. Still, craning around like that makes him very exposed, and Yuri has little problem grabbing Arty by the scruff of his neck and dragging him away from whatever unpleasant surprise is under his bed. ]

Woah, not so fast, kid. Do I look like I'm here to hurt you?

[Yes, really. B< Dirty pirate.]

[Artemis yelps as he's dragged back away from his weaponry--watch the manly ponytail! With no way of fighting back, there's one option left to him.]
You aren't one of my father's crew, thus you are either a stowaway or a PIRA--

[ Ah ah ah, no shouting. Yuri clamps a calloused hand over Artemis' smart mouth and rolls his eyes. ]

Oh come on, did you really think you were gonna get away with that? [ He pushes the younger man back down on the bed and leans a bit of weight on him to keep him in place while he thinks. It's not enough to hurt, but Yuri doubts Arty'll be going anywhere anytime soon. ]

Now, we can do this friendly like, where you stay quiet and don't bite me and if I'm feeling nice I might even give you the locked cabin with a window. [ He lifts his eyebrows and shoots his prisoner a look. It's not a nasty look, but it's not as cheerful as it was before. ] Or we can do this the hard way, where I truss you up like a pig, toss you over my shoulder, and run cackling off into night. Up to you, kid.

[Artemis keeps trying to shout through the hand anyway. He only goes quiet when Yuri leans on him, earning a little 'mmph' of discomfort. This is embarrassing--disabled by being leaned on. No son of the Fowl would stop pushing though. So he keeps trying to shout and writhe out of the hold.]

[He narrows his eyes at the options. If he went along with what this pirate wanted, what sort of man would he be? He wouldn't be fit to inherit his father's ships, certainly. He'd rather die fighting this pirate than slink back home after being ransomed.]

[After a moment he stills his fighting and attempts at shouting to attract attention, and nods.]

[ Yuri looks at the kid for a moment longer, his expression serious and a little bit threatening. ] I'm serious, you know. You blow my trust now and I can't promise I'll keep playing nice. There's no point in a dead hostage, but that doesn't mean you can't wish you were.

[ And with that, he pulls up, releasing Artemis' mouth in the processess. Yuri grabs onto the other man's upper arm to pull him off the bed. ]

[So perhaps Artemis does hesitate when the mangy pirate threatens him with bodily harm. But what was pain when his father's business and honor was on the line? Artemis wouldn't humiliate him, whatever it came to.]

[He keeps glaring at his kidnapper, though he's quiet. He isn't shouting, but he does grunt when he's hauled up by his arm.]

There's no need to be so rough--let me at least put my belt and shoes back on.

You're getting kidnapped, not going to a ball. [ Yuri grouses, but lets go briefly. He's still very close by, and ready to react to any funny business. ] Make it quick.

Edited at 2011-05-13 09:37 pm (UTC)

Well I would rather not have my pants falling down as I'm being kidnapped. [He grouses as he goes over to his desk to fetch his shoes. He does have a habit of leaving them under his desk...]

[Once he's certain the pirate is following him around the desk, Artemis darts around the chair and shoves it at Yuri. Then he's making a break for the door.]

lemme know if this is too god-moddy

Woah---! [ The chair catches Yuri in the middle, but it's not heavy enough to do more than surprise him. He tosses it off and lunges for Artemis.

See, the thing about being a pirate is you don't have much shame left to worry about. So while Arty's worried about maintaining his pride, Yuri has no such qualms. He grabs, hard, at whatever bits of clothing he can, and floors his very unwilling captive with a combination of inertia and superior size. Here's hoping the kid didn't break anything on the landing.

Aaaaand while he's stunned, Yuri will just be using him as a chair, thanks. You're not going anywhere kid. ]
Ok, that was cute. Guess that means we're doing this the hard way. [ He starts pulling out various bits of rope and cloth for just such a purpose. ]

[Artemis gasps when he hits the floor, wind knocked out of him. He was almost certain he could at least rouse someone with some noise, but then again, he's a merchant's son going against a pirate. The odds weren't good.]

Get off me...! [He wheezes and coughs, trying to get air back in his lungs, trying to shove the pirate off of him with weak pushes.]

Ha ha, nope. [ Yuri makes sure Artemis isn't about to pass out from lack of oxygen and then ties a cloth gag in between his teeth. He starts work on the younger man's wrists next, speaking casually all the while. ] I gave you a chance to play nice, kid, and you threw a chair at me. Call me paranoid, but I think I'll play it safe from here out.

[And he's only sorry it didn't knock this sorry excuse for a man in his sorry excuse for manhood. Artemis continues to writhe and try to get Yuri off of him, push his tongue against the gag to talk around it.]

Don' cah ee ach! ['Don't call me that'--even gagged he isn't going to be quiet.]

I still love you ; A;

[ Lucky for Arty, most pirates speak 'bound captive.' He ties the younger man's wrists together, practically inescapable but not painful. ] Why not? You're like what, 15? [ He shifts around and ties a spare bit of rope around Artemis' ankles - he has no desire to get snap-kicked in the face, thanks. ]

Ainheen! [How embarrassing. This pirate wasn't even taking him seriously because he looked so young--something that Artemis had to endure routinely until the crew had been educated of his capability. In the position he was in, there was little he could do but try to pull his gag down while his captor was busy tying his legs together.]
